‘On behalf of our sport and all those within it, The Greyhound Board of Great Britain mourns the passing of Her Majesty the Queen. Our thoughts and prayers are with her, her family and the entire country and Commonwealth at this sad time. We remember a life of commitment to public service, of honour and of duty.
We will remember a fellow animal lover, a dedicated dog owner, indeed a family that followed greyhound racing and someone who shared our commitment to animal welfare.
To mark Her passing, we will be requesting that all in our sport, follow the national guidance on sporting events during the forthcoming period of mourning’.
Further details will follow tomorrow (Friday) as to the forthcoming racing schedule, with racing abandoned this evening at Hove, Monmore, Perry Barr and Sunderland.
