Monmore have confirmed that this year’s Trafalgar Cup will take place again this year while Hove have announced a new puppy competition.
Monmore racing manager Tony Williamson said: “I have spoken to Kevin Perisi who has done such a superb job in resurrecting the Trafalgar Cup and he is happy to do so again.
“We are still to confirm dates with GBGB but hopefully we can get a November slot. Prize money will be increased to £2,500 to the winner.”
The Hove event will be the Season Scaffolding Puppy Cup and will be staged over the track’s new 490 metre course (coincidentally the distance over which the Trafalgar Cup was staged for many years at Wembley).
It too will be worth £2,500 to the winner. The track are currently in discussions with GBGB to secure a time slot for the competition.
