Oxford have confirmed that the first round heats of the RPGTV Puppy Collar will take place as the first races on their Monday evening card following the cancellation of Friday night’s meeting due to flooding.
Racing Manager Simon Pearson said: “We had no choice. We had some rain in the morning, a fine afternoon and then about an hour before kenneling the heavens opened. It was freakish weather.
“We were left with no choice other than to cancel. The vet didn’t want the meeting to go ahead, nor did the trainers. I have since phoned them and I think it was accepted by all of them that the meeting couldn’t go ahead.
“They were also all happy that we go on Monday, with the semi finals on Friday, and the final a week later.”
