Five of the leading six in the market made it through to next Monday’s GMG Puppy Classic Final at Nottingham with Droopys Expert the quickest of the sextet for the in-form Harrison kennel.
The opening semi went to 4-9f Droopys Gold who extended his winning sequence to five, and a more extended recent record of nine wins and two seconds in his last 11 races. Seamus Cahill’s blue went from five with Wildfire Lord in red
Not for the first time, Kevin Hutton’s Madabout Maggie (T2) upstaged a more fancied kennelmate, in the second semi final. The layers had 29.57 debutant Ballydoyle Maura (T5) as the 5-4f, but Maggie completed her own five-timer from Bottoms Up (T6).
The top two in the market dominated the final qualifier with 29.43 heat winner Droopys Expert (T4) heading home 29.39 heat winner Vigorous Becca (T3) in precisely that time.

Ironically – the performance of the night probably didn’t feature among the three semi finals. It would be claimed by sprinter Roxholme Hat (Ballymac Vic-Emma Honey, May 15) with a stunning 17.40 victory for the 305m. It was the fastest time seen at the track in more than three years and only six spots outside a track record set by another former Keightley trained runner Target Harris.
