A week after an abysmal week at Sunderland, with only Glenn Day making a small profit, the Betfred Select card proved the most lucrative meeting to date with ALL FOUR tipsters making significant profits.
In last place with a ‘mere’ £100 profit was Mark Keightley who was a game sport for stepping in at the last minute to represent the trainers. He made a short but decisive statement recommending Tynwald Baz, who was still available at 15-8, as ‘a 5-4f’ chance. The Roxholme man went for a straight £100 win on the dog who duly returned as the even money favourite and never looked like being beaten – £100 profit
In second place, on behalf of the bookmakers Betfred was Matt Hulme. Matt went for three £20 singles and a £10 trixie on Dropzone, Cloran Paddy and Dorotas Wildcat. Two of the three were successful and were returned at 9-4 and 5-4f. – £156 profit
In second place was another debutant, Paul Millward (media), who was as bullish as Mark Keightley in his selections which were a £100 win double on Roxholme Hat (4-5f) and Droopys Gold (8-11f). Both won – £210.91 profit
Finally, step forward Mr Mark Burridge – on debut for the owners. Mark went for a £20 win Tynwlad Baz (1-1f), £20 each way on Russelena Reggie (4-1), a £30 win on Dorotas Wildcat (5-4f) and a £10 treble – £372.50 profit
The Guru also weighed in with another four-timer from the eight races: Droopys Gold (8-11), Cuba Libre (2-1), Russelena Reggie (4-1), Dorotas Wildcat (5-4)
