A collection of memorabilia formerly owned by GRA senior veterinary surgeon Bruce Prole is due to go to auction on *June 3rd and 4th. (*Note correction)
The most notable exhibit is the two roll of honour boards that were located in the main entrance to the main building at GRA’s Hook Kennels in Northaw. They feature the names of every classic winner trained at the establishment between 1931 and 1979.
Other items of interest include the racing jacket awarded to Sherrys Prince following his unique third victory in the 1972 Grand National.
Much older still is an “original printed Laws of Parliament ‘for the better preservation of game'” – two framed printed sheets from 1717.
There are also a number of books and photographs but track and coursing trophies
