The latest instalment of the popular Premier Greyhound Sales see’s the team heading to Crayford on Wednesday 15th May 2024. With trials set to get underway at 10am there is a wide selection of greyhounds set to trial with something to suit everybody and every budget. The catalogue as usual is previewed by Mark Pierrepont –
GIZMO BAHOO – Very lightly raced August 2022 son of Magical Bale out of Down The Green who showcased plenty of trapping ability and early pace in a recent 400 yard race around Dundalk. Led for a long way in that and despite being picked up in the latter stages showed more than enough to suggest he will be winning plenty over sprint and short four bend courses such as sales venue Crayford and nearby Romford. Dam Down The Green is well proven counting the likes of Irish sprint sensation and Shelbourne Park 350 yard track record holder Gizmo Cash amongst her offspring.
AFFLECK ASSASSIN – Lightly raced August 2022 son of Ballymac Bolger who is already a 3 time race winner in Ireland. Has been showcasing a great deal of early pace and will no doubt be well suited to the likes of Crayford and Romford as well as venues with regular sprint graded races.
KNOCKMANT VENUS – Lightly raced June 2022 daughter of Burgess Bucks who has gone close with a couple of second placed efforts over 525 yards at Mullingar. Looks sure to be well suited by the shorter four bend courses and looks all set to go through the grades here in the UK.
KNOCKMANT SASSY – Another lightly raced bitch who has been showing plenty of early zip in Ireland and again looks sure to prove well suited by the shorter four bend courses available here in the UK. Plenty of early pace and without doubt should more than pay her way on the graded scene.
KIPPAGH ARROW – Unraced November 2022 dog pup by Ballymac Anton and from the maiden litter of Silver Solution. Just the one trial on the card of this stunning 80lb fawn youngster recording 3016 around Cork. Suspicion given his size and breeding is that there could be huge improvement to come around a likely more suitable galloping circuit than he will find at sales venue Crayford.
TWINNERZ – Unraced September 2022 son of Magical Bale who recorded 1725 around Waterford in the only trial on his card. Full sister Shes A Joker already a race winner here in the UK around The Valley and has been showing plenty of early dash.
DROOPYS TOOTSIE – Unraced November 2022 daughter of Droopys Sydney out of Droopys Gifted who was an open class winner on the track and closely related to many open and competition class performers. As with all pup hailing from the Droopys stud will have wanted for nothing until this stage and looks sure to make into a really nice type.
DROOPYS YODA – Unraced November 2022 son of Droopys Noah out of Droopys Dorothy who has proven herself time and time again as a producer of top open and competition class performers. Responsible for the likes of 2019 Romford Puppy Cup runner up and 2020 Birmingham Cup winner Droopys Carat there are sure to be plenty aiming to add Yoda to their kennel.
PERFECTO LOMAX – Unraced August 2022 son of Droopys Sydney out of Scooter who looked very much in need of the experience when running over four bends for the first time at the recent Yarmouth sale. Plenty left in the locker of this one and sure to move through the grades at a rapid rate of knots.
RAPIDO ARLO – Unraced November 2022 daughter of Kinloch Brae out of 2018 Irish Bitch Of The Year Vancouver. Posted 3018 around Waterford in what is so far the only trial on her card.
BLAZEAWAY BETTY – What a prospect this unraced February 2023 lady is. Stunning blue bitch by Malachi out of Will She Pass who proved herself very much a producer of open class performers with her maiden litter to Droopys Sydney already burning up the tracks. Whatever this lady does on sales day will be improved upon ten fold over the coming months and there will be many a shrewd eye keen on adding her to their ranks.
HONESTLY NORUSH – Make absolutely no mistake about it this is a pup of immense talent who is rated in the very highest esteem by his shrewd and knowledgeable breeder rearer Sean Conway. A son of the super stud Droopys Sydney out of the maiden litter of Mon Amie this youngster posted a sensational 1757 around Lifford just last week in an unofficial trial over the 325 yard course. To bring this into comparison superstar sprinter Gizmo Cash holds the track record at 1709 and given that Honestly Norush is a mere September 2022 whelp it’s clear to see that this is a greyhound heading to the very top. His on the day trial will be of extreme interest but there is no doubt at all that a huge run is anticipated.
LADY AVA – Lightly raced April 2022 bitch by Broadstrand Bono out of Donation who has been a little unlucky not to get off the mark thus far but should soon find herself on the winners podium. Noted staying on strongly in her races she could be one for the short six bend courses on offer at the likes of Crayford and Romford.
NICKY THE SECOND – Not a mark on the card of this October 2022 son of King Sheeran out of Late Hyena. With all the hard work of rearing and schooling complete this youngster looks all set to grade in nicely here in the UK and should have little difficulty making his way through the graded system.
ROSSETTI HIKER (ex – Rossetti Ella) – Unraced December 2022 dog pup by Burgess Bucks who showed plenty of promise when posting 1686 at Clonmel in the very first trial of his life beating off his sole rival by a length.
ROSSETTI MARI – full sister to Hiker detailed above with just the one trial on her card in which she recorded 1718 around Clonmel.
TINAS MINNIE – lightly raced September 2022 daughter of Ballymac Bolger who has been showing plenty of early pace around Derry and should be well suited by sale venue Crayford.
TINAS LIBERTY – lightly raced full sister to Minnie who has won both of her last two competitive starts around Derry 2881 and 2854 respectively. Shows she’s very much heading in the right direction.
SOW THE SEED – unraced September 2022 son of Skywalker Canny out of Blackwalk Joanne who ran out a 6 length winner of the only trial on his card in 1784 around Cork.
ALWAYS BELIEVE – not a mark on the card of this September 2022 bitch by Broadstrand Bono out of Foxhill Nancy who is a daughter of the multiple open and competition class producing dam Cruel Intentions. Well regarded young bitch with the whole of her career ahead of her.
GOOD PIPPY – A Dec’22 baby who is full with bundles of improvement. Classically bred daughter of Free From Desire who’s hails from the famous Good Cody and Good News dam line. Beautiful lady.
RUTHLESS – This fellow has been working very well at home and is expected to put in a huge run on sales day. Breeding doesn’t get much better than this with Ruthless being a son of the superstar stud Droopys Sydney out of 2021 English Oaks Champion Billys Diva. Top class prospect who as a September 2022 whelp can only improve for a long time to come.
MIKEYS CURLEY – Not a single mark on the card of this August 2022 son of Ballymac Anton out of Mikeys Gift who was a top grade winner on the track at Shelbourne Park and competed at open class level. Well regarded youngster who should go on to compete at a decent level here in the UK.
KIPPAGH BARRA – stunning unraced fawn youngster without a mark on his card. This November 2022 whelp is a son of Ballymac Anton out of Silver Solution who is a full sister to 2022 Easter Cup Finalist Geelo Josh.
BLAZEAWAY KISS – a super prospect from the February 2023 litter of Malachi out of the open class producing dam Will She Pass. Word from the astute Conway establishment is that this litter are expected to make up into equally as nice a types as those from the maiden litter to Droopys Sydney who have in the main gone on to both compete and indeed win at open class level. As with all greyhounds hailing from this establishment quality rearing is assured with the motto ‘you only get out what you put in’ firmly being applied. That kind of philosophy can only serve these pups well both for their racing careers and given their bloodlines quite possibly for brood careers of their own further down the line.

PERFECTO GAZ – highly thought of August 2022 son of Droopys Sydney out of Scooter who really caught the eye recently clocking 2934 around Waterford in what was the very first four bend trial of his life. Weighed in at 78lb for that trial and can only improve once filling out into his substantial frame.
RAPIDO TREAT – unraced May 2022 bitch who weighed in at a substantial 70lb for the only trial on her card which was a winning one over Waterford’s 300 yard trip in 1711. A daughter of Droopys Sydney out of the open and competition class producing dam Enable she looks to have a very bright future. Enable of course is the mother of 2021 Irish Derby Finalist All About Ted.
STONEPARK ALF – unraced August 2022 son of Droopys Sydney out of Geelo Evie who is a full sister to the bitch of a lifetime Droopys Curio whose stella track career is being matched in the breeding paddocks since retirement. Outstanding prospect with bloodlines to dream of.
ZENTA – unraced November 2022 daughter of Burgess Bucks out of Stonepark Dame who was unraced but kept especially for breeding. Hailing from the famed Kildallon Maid dam line this lady has been reared and schooled with no expense spared.
DROOPYS ISABEL – stunning unraced January 2023 bitch pup from the Droopys team. A daughter of Coolavanny Hoffa out of Droopys Thelma making her a full sister to Droopys Natalie who topped the recent Yarmouth sale at £7800 having performed superbly on the day with a 2878 trial. Isabel has always been held in extremely high regard by the team back home and it will come as no surprise at all to see extreme interest in a young bitch who looks to have a high class track and brood career ahead of her.
DROOPYS SUNBEAM – stunning white and blue bitch from the Droopys team who a November 2022 whelp has mountains of improvement to come. Stud dog Droopys Sydney needs no introduction at all quite simply one of the greatest of all time whilst dam Droopys Sweet being a daughter of the super brood Droopys Hilda is closely related to many open and competition class greyhounds and herself has been producing open class in her litters to date. Many will be looking to add this exciting prospect to their teams for the year ahead.
GIZMO FOREVER – lightly raced August 2022 fawn bitch by Magical Bale out of 2017 Newbridge Oaks Champion Down The Green who has a decent 1805 race win on the card at Lifford in March.
AFFLECK SINDARR – three time race winning August 2022 dog pup has victories on the card over 325 yards and 525 yards at a decent level. Versatile sort who will have no trouble competing in good company at the likes of sale venue Crayford or indeed any four bend distance in the UK. Plenty of races to be won with this son of Ballymac Bolger and Affleck Macy.
MINELLA WILDCAT – strong running February 2022 bitch pup by Dorotas Wildcat with a best four bend time on the card of 2924 around Clonmel and also came from behind to win a decent A4 there earlier this year.
KNOCKDUFF SALLY – September 2022 bitch pup by Explosive Boy who looked in need of the experience in a couple of open novice affairs at Enniscorthy recently. Those runs will have served her well however and looks sure to prove a useful addition to any graded kennel here in the UK.
EPIC DIAMOND – Word from the extremely knowledgeable Kennedy set up is that this lady is much better than two moderate lines of trial form on her card might suggest. Members of her litter are already winning races here in the UK and now that Diamond has her seasonal rest out of the way she is fully expected to follow on in their footsteps. Sales trial will be of interest but no surprise to see her improve greatly upon what’s on her card thus far.
JAYKAY CRAZE – this unraced August 2022 son of Good News out of Portumna Marina is rated right out of the top drawer by the Kennedy team. Craze has been showing blistering early pace and huge trapping ability in his home trials and is fully expected to make into a high class individual over the sharper four bend courses here in the UK. A member of a promising litter and Craze could very well be the best of them.
MIKEYS MO – unraced August 2022 dog pup by Ballymac Anton out of Mikeys Gift who has had all the hard work of rearing and schooling done and looks set to progress with ease through the UK graded system where he should prove a useful addition to his new kennel.
KIPPAGH DIRECT – unraced November 2022 dog pup from the Ballymac Anton x Silver Solution litter. Stunning looking fawn who is expected to enjoy successful career here in the UK.
PERFECTO KIWI – big things are expected of this unraced August 2022 son of Droopys Sydney and Scooter. Hugely promising 2927 run around Waterford in what was the first four bend trial of his life and with big improvement anticipated he must surely be expected to enjoy a fruitful career here in the UK.
ANTHONY – unraced September 2022 son of Brett Lee out of Oi Oi Upenalty the superstar track performer who has gone onto enjoy a successful brood career. Already responsible for the likes of Trinity Junior the superstar Irish track performer and 2023 Champion Stake winner. This lad could be anything and with breeding like this he is sure to have many a keen eye intent on securing his services.
AWKWARD SILENCE – unraced October 2022 bitch pup by King Sheeran out of Late Hyena who Crayford regulars will know well as a regular top grade and open class winner around the track. Not a mark on the card so the on the day trial of Awkward Silence will be very educational.
COONOUGH VIOLET – unraced November 2022 bitch pup by Grangeview Ten out of UK open race performer Coonough Bell who has produced open class of her own since retiring to the breeding paddocks. This cross to Grangeview Ten looks sure to produce pacey pups.
OPTIMUM CALIBRE – unraced September 2022 dog pup who has ran out an impressive winner of the only two trials on his card in 1808 and 1805 around Cork. Dam Newinn Melody was a top grade performer here in England at Monmore Green and of course is a full litter sister to the 2020 Irish Greyhound Derby Champion Newinn Taylor.
BLACK TAFFETA – unraced full sister to ‘Calibre’ detailed above and ran out a wide margin winner of her second 330-yard trial at Cork earlier this month in 1820. Promising track career awaits but with her bloodlines is sure to attract attention from those with one eye on breeding in the future.
RURAL LAHAINA – unraced September 2022 bitch by Droopys Sydney out of Rural Aloha who was a super open class performer on the track in Ireland and has produced some really high class offspring since retiring including the likes of Front Armani who reached the finals of both the Puppy Oaks and The Irish Oaks itself back in 2020. Her only trial over four bends around Clonmel of 3027 suggests she may struggle to reach that kind of level herself but there is plenty of time to improve yet and could her future lay in the breeding paddocks ?
HASTY BLONDIE – April 2022 bitch who has shown a consistent level of form in Ireland’s mid grades and has race wins on the card at Clonmel over both the sprint and four bend courses.
ASIAN CAMILLA – March 2022 bitch by Ballymac Bolger who has shown just a moderate level of form to date but has shown enough to suggest she will win her share on the UK graded scene.
STRONEPARK SHADO – unraced September 2022 dog pup by Broadstrand Bono out of the competition class producing dam Yahoo Perlena whose offspring read like a who’s who of greyhound racing superstars. Not a mark on his card so the trial on the day will be of interest but the word is that this lad can run and there will be plenty looking to add him to their strings.
RESERVES
A) CLAIM THE STARS – unraced July 2022 dog by Ice On Fire out of Royston News who weighed in at a huge 88lb for the only trial on his card in which he recorded 1985 around Shelbourne Park. Given his frame likely he’ll be better suited to a galloping circuit.
B) COOLAVANNY MAIZY – lightly raced October 2021 dog by Ballymac Best who has shown some strong running form in top grade races at Tralee.
C) DANGAN STORM – unraced November 2022 bitch by Ballymac Best who won the only trial on her card by 6 lengths in 1694 around Clonmel.
D) DROOPYS JOJO – not a mark on the card of this July 2022 bitch pup by Droopys Sydney out of Droopys Natalia. Plenty to come from this one and with breeding like this is sure to have her admirers.
E) DROOPYS VARIETY – not a single mark on the card of this product of the Droopys establishment. Just a November 2022 whelp this son of Droopys Sydney and Beaming Scarlet looks to have a very bright future indeed.
F) EPIC ANGEL – breeding like this doesn’t come available too often with this September 2022 daughter of Droopys Sydney out of English Oaks Champion Billys Diva. Posted 1838 around Thurles in what is to date the only trial on her card.
G) FERGUS PEST – July 2022 bitch pup by Pestana who posted a fantastic 2859 around Newbridge in what was only the second race of her live whilst competing in the unraced stake there in March. Ability isn’t in question and sure to compete at a good standard here in the UK.
H) MARKET DANGER – lightly raced August 2022 son of Burgess Bucks who has been showcasing plenty of early pace in his races to date around Waterford non more evidently than when running out a super winner there last time out in 2908.
