Roxholme Poppy, a thirteen length winner of her heat, can follow up in the semi-finals of the Jay & Kay Coach Tours Kent St Leger over 714 metres at Crayford.
Hayley Keightley’s Yorkshire and George Ing St Leger winner landed her first race since returning from a seasonal break in a fast 44.82sec when spread-eagling her rivals on the back of a flying 23.04sec split. A similar break can see her racing against the clock.
Patrick Janssens’s Affleck Bolt, who beat Burgess Honey in 45.09sec, looks the main danger.
Track record holder Stardom can prove too strong for her rivals in the opening eliminator. Heather Dimmock’s bitch clocked the same 23.04sec split when beating the re-opposing early leader Sheldon by five lengths in a fastest of the night 44.73sec.
The youngster Roxholme Dolly, who won in 45.30sec and Sheldan look set to make the pace while Stardom can bide her time and strike late.
Antigua Fire, who was well beaten by Stardom last week, can bounce back to take the third qualifier.
Mark Wallis’s runner has two moderate starters on his inside and can turn in a handy position before asserting on the second lap.
Goldies Hotspur will be plugging on late and can provide the forecast link.
