The top three lots at Sunday’s sale at Hall Green, all originated at the Droopys kennel in Portlaw.
Top lot was Droopys Perri (Blackstone Gene-Droopys Quinta, Nov 13) who made 4,700gns and was bought by George Andreas. Perri is a sister to Andreas’ Yassoo Martin who topped the Wimbledon sale where he subsequently won a puppy open in 28.33. Perri clocked the fastest time of the day, 29.39 (-20) for the 480 metres.
Next highest was Droopys Singer (Sparta Maestro-Droopys Rena, Jan 14) at 3,700gns. She clocked 29.93 and is heading to Henlow with Droopys York (Central City-Droopys Solange, Feb 14) making 3,500gns.
Of the 52 greyhounds who went on the bench 32 went home with new owners at a cost of almost £40,000.
Sales promoter Brian Harrison said: “It went reasonably well, though I thought a lot of the dogs were under priced. There was plenty of interest with Newcastle trainer Dave Spraggon alone buying nine dogs. I have a couple of options for the next sale, which would be in the next couple of months.”
