Puppy Oaks winner Sidarian Pearl took a step closer to adding the senior title to her CV with the fastest second round win in the Sporting Press Oaks at Shelbourne on Saturday night.
On a track running .40 slow. the black took her recent record to five from six with a four and a half length win over kennelmate Rural Maui in 28.63.
Later on the card, kennelmate Ballydoyle Honey took another major step towards defending her title with a narrow defeat byn 10-1 chance Highview Jane. Honey trapped well and was alongside the leader when checking slightly at the second bend. After losing her stride, she rallied gamely and was only beaten a head by the 29.17 (-50) winner.
