I was lucky enough to have two runners in the Puppy Classic Final at Nottingham and watched the race from the far side of the track. I have to say that Bubbly Bluebird was amazing.

I have since watched the video replay of the race and from above, it doesn’t do credit to just how fast a dog he is.

He is the best pup I have seen in a long time and I think you can dismiss any claims about times. Nottingham is running a fair bit slower than it was last year. Swift Hoffman broke 29.00 there, but he wouldn’t be doing that with how the track is running this year.

Of my two, Newinn Blitz will probably be entered in the Northern Flat and Vatican Venice will probably make his six bend debut at Perry Barr at the weekend. Azzurri Dino is also lined up for Belle Vue in the Scurry.

On Wednesday I am due to take Charity Dragon, Newinn Louis and Blackstone Omar to Romford for trials with the Puppy Cup in mind. I was delighted with Dragon’s first race at the track. Hopefully he can go a long way.

Then on Saturday, I hope to have Droopys Folly and Fearsome Phantom in the first round of the Doncaster Leger.

It is not a track that I frequent very often, but the prize money is good and it will be good to catch up with racing manager Mick Smith again.

We are quite excited about the first litter of Take The Crown pups to have reached the card at Yarmouth.

They are out of Borna Empress and were reared by John Mullins who is now training them.

One of the bitches, Maureens Wish qualified straight into A2 and has raced twice. Her brothers Ambion Hill, Carn Brea and Tudor Dynasty qualified in around A3/A4 and have one race each.

They are huge pups, one of the dogs are nearly 40 kilos, so we know it will take a while for them to find their feet.

Delighted too with the progress of Newinn Yolo and Swift Hoffman. In a really quiet market, both dogs are doing really well.

Hoffman went to stud first and has covered around 20 bitches to date. As for his fertility, his last four litters were 10, 11, 12 and 13 pups.
