Teejays Panther produced the best performance in the five Ladbrokes Puppy Derby Trial stakes over 480 metres at Monmore on Thursday.
Paul Young’s runner was led to the first turn by Glenpadden Wood but powered to the front to eventually score by almost four lengths in 28.28sec.
Young had a quick double when his Patchys Kerry rode a first bend bump in division two before going clear to score a two length victory over Glenpadden Rock in 28.37sec.
With the two aforementioned runners-up Barrie Draper had better luck with Glenpadden Chief in division four. He missed the trouble at the opening turn to lead off the second bend and beat Oscasupreme in 28.41sec.
Clonkeen Stanley made an impressive debut for trainer Pat Rosney in division five to lead from the opening turn and hold Jaytee Texas by a length in 28.47sec.
Aimnfire, who scored here last week, was again a trap to line winner of the top division when accounting for staying on Vatican Gurkha by just over three lengths in 28.56sec.
The event gets underway on Monday March 2.
