A fence-side draw and early trouble saw hot ante-post favourite Lenson Panda make his exit in the semi-finals of the Dublin Coach Juvenile Derby over 525 yards at Harolds Cross on Friday.

Pat Buckley’s runner missed his break and was hemmed in on the inside before the field cut across him at the turn.

During all this mayhem Black Alder was out on the bunny and he eventually made all to come home two and a half lengths clear of Trade Freddie in 28.67sec.

Skywalker Archie kept on for third, with Lenson Panda finishing fourth.

Jaytee Dutch came from last to first to land the second semi-final.

Paul Hennessy’s was slowly away and bumped on the run up as the pace was cut out by Hee Haws Sheriff.

He flew down the back straight to go third and came up the inside to get up on the line and edge out Hee Haws Sheriff and Anopheles by a neck and a short head in 28.64sec.

Draw for next week’s final

1 Hee Haws Sheriff

2 Black Alder

3 Anopheles

4 Trade Freddie (M)

5 Skywalker Archie (M)

6 Jaytee Dutch (W)
