Oscar Whisky (Droopys Oscar-Droopys Daneel, May 14) totally outclassed the opposition in the final of the Meadowcourt Maidens at Doncaster on Wednesday.
Charlie Lister’s 4-6f, who dominated the heats, trapped slowly but barged through at the first bend and then pulled away to win by six and a half lengths in 29.40 for the 483 metres – the fastest time recorded in nearly three years.
The three heats of the maiden competition featured some veteran virigins. Millcroft King (Last Bid-Anns Arguement, Jul 12) recorded the fastest time in the 450 competition. The near four year old beat Wendys Pride by five in 27.71. The other heats went to Kinloch Lucy (Kinloch Brae-Curragh Lane, Feb 12) in 27.85 and Shakeitup Tricky (Eden Brett-Droopys Ruby, Jul 12)
