Ante-post favourite Droopys Sambuca was withdrawn from the semi-finals of the GM Concrete Puppy Oaks over 525 yards at Harolds Cross on Friday.
In her absence the race went to the well-backed evens favourite Danesrath Beauty. Michael Connolly’s daughter of Shaneboy Lee was soon in front and went on to beat Genuine Pearl by two lengths in 28.92sec.
Newbridge Open Bitch Stake winner Badminton Maid was the evens favourite for the second semi-final but was just run out of it by Jeanettedollemma, who was subsequently suspended from the final for fighting.
Liam Dowling’s Ballymac Belle led off the second turn but ran out of petrol up the home straight and it was Pat Kiely’s Jeanettedollemma who looked set for a comfortable victory.
However she turned in on Ballymac Belle but straightened up in time to hold fellow fast finisher Badminton Maid by a short head with Ballymac Belle half a length away in third. The time was 28.80sec.
