Former Romford racing manager Peter O’Dowd has agreed to sit on a seeding review panel, along with Nottingham racing managers Peter Robinson and Jason Smith to consider the seeding of all runners entered in the 2019 ARC, Star Sports and LPS Derby.
The trio will meet on Tuesday May 14, just 24 hours after the event closes.
Nottingham promoter Rachel Corden said: “Seeding is a very hot topic and I listen to so many frustrations from trainers on this point. In view of that, and to ensure the fairest and safest playing field, Peter and Jason will be joined by Peter O’Dowd to comprise a three man panel, to consider the seeding of all valid entries.
“The panel, with its combined racing office experience of well over 100 years, will review form and video footage and consider whether any seeding amendments are necessary, prior to the start of the competition and up to and for the third round, in accordance with the GBGB Rules of Racing, and the usual Derby dispensation.
“We are delighted that Peter O’Dowd, winner of the 2018 GWA Services to Greyhound Racing Award, has agreed to join the Seeding Review Panel. He has great expertise, independence and is so very well respected.”
