8.07 Give all six runners solo trials and you would get very short odds on All About Class (T3) clocking the fastest time. Ray Pleasants’ Yarmouth runner has tremendous all round pace but would rather have been drawn a couple of slots closer to the rail. On his immediate inside are two Hall Green runners. Romeo Desperado (T1) ran a cracker on debut but looked novice next time out. Let Me Tell You has gone through the grades at Hall Green and won well on his first look at Nottingham. Caherina Piper showed King Kid a clean pair of heals for three bends last time out and checked at the last bend but is held by the favourite on Yarmouth form. Madabout Brax finished between King Kid and Caherina Piper last time out and will be running on. The early value appears to be the 4-5f (Bet365) though Romeo Desperado (8-1 Betfred) is a worthy option.

8.22 Kildallon Bolt (T1) was imperious over course and distance on July 5, flying to the bend and winning well in 29.76 (+20) but that was from the five box. He has never run, or even trialled from red in his entire career so the 5-4 (general). Appears on the skinny side.

Vatican Venice (T6) is the obvious danger despite ‘only’ having a best of 30.06 over c&d. He is not quick away but should still lead Romeo Marshal (T5) and will run around the outside of the field and finish well. He is available at 6-4. Ballymac Benz (T3 16-1) could hold the key to the race if the favourite doesn’t lead as he has good early and will move to rail.

8.37 The betting suggests there are only three runners in this with, Ballinakil Biddy (T3), surprisingly maybe, the 6-4f. She is undoubtedly talented with 28.41 winning form on her card, but only has three races. She has 29.88 trial form over course and distance. King Kid (T5) on the other hand, is 7-4 at the time of posting, and looks better value. He only has five races on his card but four are at Nottingham which he seems to love. He has great all round pace including a 28.45 run for the 480m. Sheffield’s Truly A Legend (T1) is a dog with a tremendous future but he is one of the youngest in the event, and this isn’t Owlerton

NAP: King Kid

CLASSIC3

8.51 The clash of Bubbly Bluebird (T1) and Newinn Shadow (T4) is the highlight of the night’s racing. 10-1 bar two. Bluebird has already won competitions at such differing circuits as Sunderland and Hove and has two sub30.00 trials. Beaten (odds on) Peterborough Derby finalist Newinn Shadow (T4) is the fastest dog over the 480m course this year and had a 12 spot advantage when the pair trialled over course and distance at the same session. The narrow vote goes to Bluebird (11-10) based on the fact that he should lead and make Shadow (11-8) work for his position

CLASSIC4

9.07 Ex Hall Green runner Thinkingofdarcy (T2) has more experience than the rest of the field combined. He was awesome at Towcester but is vulnerable early. But in what is probably the second weakest of the six qualifiers, any odds against must be worth considering – currently 11-10. The danger appears to be Garryglass Teddy (T1). He is unraced in England and only has two runs on his Irish card – both wins. He will almost certainly go on to win open races, but does anybody really want 7-2 early prices?

Sel: Thinkingofdarcy

CLASSIC5

9.22 Newinn Blitz (T1) has three wins from his 14 races, the best of which was a 28.78 frun the 480m at Newcastle. On all know form he looks a class above the opposition in the weakest heat of the night. But anyone taking 4-9 about a puppy, with some decent early pace next door, can help themselves. The danger is probably Balboa Vadar running in the stripes. A regular in A1/A2 at Central Park with a 50% strikes rate, he doesn’t look too bad at 6-1.

Sel: Balboa Vadar
