Amelie Jeanie was a shock 8-1 winner of the Stadium Bookmakers Maiden Dual Distance Trophy over 480 metres at Nottingham on Monday writes Jason Craddock.

John Blencowe’s runner flew out of the boxes and made every metre of the running to come home almost four lengths clear of Cabra Sky in 28.81sec.

Charlie Lister’s course specialist Oneco Melissa landed the final of the Betfred.com Stayers Dual Distance Final over 730 metres when leading from the opening turn to score a three and a half length victory over Midway nick in 45.07sec.

Pat Rosney unleashed a promising debutant in the Betfred Puppy Maiden 480 heats in the shape of Newyork City Boy, who made all the running to hold kennelmate Peerless Trio by almost two lengths in 28.86sec.

The other heat was a scrappy affair and it went to Craig Perry’s Geelo Lola who led off the final turn to hold the late effort of Romeo Original by three quarters of a length in 29.14sec.

Little separated the three heat winners on the clock in the Betfred 480.

Carol Weatherall’s Quiz Book came back to form in heat one when leading from the opening turn to hold Droopys Genoa by a length and a half in 28.77sec.

Swindon raider Seiskin Raptor was a trap to line winner of the second qualifier when accounting for Albert Golden by just over four lengths in 28.69sec.

Pat Cowdrill’s Express Master led from the opening bend in the third qualifier to register a near six length victory over Southern Henri in 28.73sec.

In trials before racing Swift Hoffman, the Scottish Derby, Select Stakes and Gold Cup winner Swift Hoffman recorded a fastest of the session 17.63sec for 305 metres.

Pat Rosney’s runner is likely to reappear in the All England Cup at Newcastle.

Kennelmate Aero Inferno did 17.75sec, while Coolavanny Susan recorded 17.76sec.

Geraldine Kovac’s Clounamon Queen was quickest over 500 metres with 30.05sec.
