Nottingham’s meeting on Monday was abandoned due to hare problems in torrential rain but not before a couple of top notch British Bred runners went round the track in trials in preparation for the British Breeders Stakes next week.
John Mullin’s Romeo Ruban stopped the clock at a speedy 29.55sec for the 500 metre trip in a solo trial.
Witton Derecho, the British Bred Northern Plate winner was only just slower with a 29.58sec spin.
Meanwhile stayer Ridgedale Max did 29.95sec in his solo workout, while Truth Matters clocked 28.48sec for the 480 metre trip.
Last year’s Romford Puppy Cup winner Grays Cup winner registered a fast 14.78sec for the 255 metre distance.
