Friday night was another good one for Barrie Draper’s kennel as he landed a four-timer at Sheffield that included a double for siblings Magna Snape and Magna Dumble, November 2013 whelps from a mating between Ace Hi Rumble and Ballymac Floreck, a litter-sister of Draper’s Scottish Derby winner Ballymac Eske.
Magna Snape was 6-4 favourite for an A3 and justified the confidence his supporters had shown by taking an early lead that he turned into a winning margin of two and threequarters lengths in 29.24 for the 500 metres and Magna Dumble (7-4) recorded her first victory in an A6, driving clear of the opposition early to score by five and a quarter lengths in 29.61.
Steve Carrington was the man in form again at Kinsley on Friday when he dominated the West Yorkshire racecourse’s programme by taking SIX of the races. Jackaberry initiated the spree with a sprint victory at 7-2 and further successes were recorded by Too Dear (3-1), Czech Hunter (3-1), Scarton Belle (6-4), So Do I (2-1) and Clonrooske Music (3-1)_
GOLDEN DUNKEN is doing his best to make life impossible for the Kinsley graders at the moment. When Darren Fretwell’s November 2012 son of Trewmount Snap and Kellair ran out a three-length winner on Saturday in 16.19 for the 268 metres it was his sixth successive victory in six weeks, all bar one (an open success at Sheffield) in D1 grade at the West Yorkshire circuit.
