Derby Plate winner Droopys Norris made the trap one draw count in the final of the Coral Standard Final over 515 metres at Hove.
Dean Child’s runner was slowly away but accelerated into the bend and forced his way through. He went clear down the far side and went on to hold Leathems Desire by a head in 30.23sec.
The fastest time over the 515 metre trip was put up by Shotgun Harley in the Maiden. Derek Knight’s runner led from start to finish to hold Lenson Premier by three quarters of a length in 30.11sec.
Doncaster St Leger winner Milwards Teddy won his first race of the year over 695 metres when leading off the third turn to beat Droopys Flash by two lengths in 41.83sec.
