Mowem Down landed her third race on the bounce in the £500 Stayers Final over 687 metres at Wimbledon on Saturday.
Derek Knight’s bitch, the 6-4 favourite, was led to the fourth turn by Bam Bams Barney where she hit the front, only to be passed by local runner There It Is.
However, the daughter of Ace Hi Rumble came again on the run-in to get up and score by a short head in 42.20sec (-15).
She is now a 28-1 shot for the forthcoming St Leger with the sponsors William Hill.
The classic gets underway on Saturday October 24 with eight first round heats.
