Coolemore Joe clocked the fastest time of the year over 480 metres at Swindon in the top Calne Racing Arc Trial Stake.
Liz McNair’s runner flew out of the boxes and went clear from the opening turn to beat Mark Wallis’s Evanta Evita by three lengths in 28.35sec.
John Mullins’ Lann Jacob, who scored for his handler at the Trainers Championship meeting, landed the second division when making most to beat Wallis’s Domino Storm by a neck in 28.63sec.
Wallis again supplied the runner-up in division three when his Blonde Nipper was in the wars early on before finishing just over three lengths behind all the way winner Loughteen Eoin who scored in 28.64sec.
Paul Young’s Teejays Panther was a trap to line winner of the fourth division when outstaying another Wallis runner-up Aayamzaone by just over three lengths in 28.52sec.
Peter Swadden’s Jetstreamcaptain led early in the fifth division to see off the favourite Emils Banjo by just over three lengths in 28.66sec.
In trials before racing, Liz McNair’s defending champion King Dec clocked 28.57sec in a solo.
Kennelmate Leamaneigh Turbo went quicker when recording 28.46sec.
