Bramble Magpie clocked the fastest time of Monmone’s pre-race trial session today. Steve Anderson’s Newcastle A1 performer covered the 480 metres in 28.33 (-40) and was easily the fastest of the Ladbrokes.com Puppy Derby hopefuls.
Young Romeo (28.81, similar going) was the best of the Paul Young trained trialists. Others included Ajlo Legalbeagle (28.94) and Astonish (28.98). Droopys Costa (28.73) was the quickest of the Dean Childs’ trained string.
The Ladbrokes.com Puppy Derby (April ’14 and younger) is run over three Thursdays starting on March 3 and is worth £12,500 to the winner. Entries close Monday February 29 at noon.
