Team Monmore enjoyed a tremendous second leg of the BAGS/SIS Track Championship at Swindon.
The first leg of a treble came in the opener where Paul Sallis’ Holycross Love (7-1) turned over then Hall Green hot pup Let Me Tell You by a length in 29.14. Roys Boy (3-1) landed Standard for Chris Allsopp while home track specialist Droopys Turin (11-10f) reminded doubters that he has previously run the Lady Lane circuit with some aplomb when taking the Elite Standard. The Wolverhampton outfit returned home with 48 points secured.
Double runners meant Swindon were destined to land the event and they duly rattled up 60 points thanks to stayer Copy And Paste (5-1) and Bitch winner Winetavern Clare (5-1). Hall Green (36pts) picked up one win with Supreme Bully (3-1) in the sprint.
The day was a disaster for ante post favourites and reigning champs Towester who notched one win with What Fun Jamie (3-1) but amassed only 24 points on the day and finished last behind Perry Barr (30).
Total: 99 Swindon. 97 Towcester, 81 Monmore, 67 Hall Green, 47 Perry Barr
