Monmore Saturday action
There is dual Category One action at Monmore this weekend. Both the Ladbrokes Gold Cup and the Summer Stayers opening round kick off on Saturday evening. Jonathan Hobbs and Joe Conneely sat down to discuss the two competitions and provide some ante post bets. All prices quoted are from the sponsors.

Derby finalist Churchfield Syd heads the market for the Ladbrokes Gold Cup. The Derby finalist was first past the post in the Winter Derby at Monmore earlier in the year and was runner-up to Links Maverick in this competition in 2023.
Charlie Rees spoke to Joe earlier in the week to discuss how he sees things going for the current favourite. The kennel also has Nowitsmyturn in the competition as well as Kilara Roberto and Clona Kody.
Another of the big contenders is Barntick Bear. Fresh off setting new figures for the 500m at Towcester, part owner Paul Carpenter spoke about the decision to run in the Gold Cup rather than the Summer Stayers.
Both Droopys Hanover and Antigua Eagle will represent Kevin Hutton in the 480m competition. It will be a busy Saturday night for the kennel as they have all six runners in the British Bred Oaks at Oxford.

The Diane Henry and Kevin Boothby combination will be busy with runners in four of the six heats of the Ladbrokes Summer Stayers. Ante post favourite for the competition is Droopys Clue at 3/1 with New Destiny next in at 11/2.
