LIZ AND WAYNE A SHINING LIGHT OF POSITIVITY
Liz and Wayne Mazey are well known figures in the sport who are a shining light to us all. Regularly seen around the tracks promoting the rehoming of retired greyhounds they have been regulars at Towcester throughout this years Derby where their infectious smiles have become a beacon of shining light for all. It’s all too easy to look at the negative aspects of life these days but Liz and Wayne have rightfully chosen to seek out the positives and that shines through. Liz and Wayne are pictured above with their retired greyhounds Luna (ex Savana Jackie) and Bangerz ( ex The Rockstar). Bangerz is named in memory of Liz’s sadly departed son Ryan. Signet Goofy who was trained by perfection throughout his career by John Mullins is pencilled in to lead out the runners for the Star Sports Bookmakers TRC English Greyhound Derby Final whilst Bangerz will be following the line up on to the track.

DERBY LUNCH AT TOWCESTER RACECOURSE
The prestigious Derby lunch takes place today at Towcester racecourse. Held annually in honour of the six finalists and their connections the lunch in recent years has also had the added attraction of hosting the draw for the final itself. The Greyhound Star will be represented at the lunch today and will bring you the draw and reaction throughout the afternoon so check back here throughout the day.

Towcester regular Sunday afternoon open card yesterday carried the added intrigue of competition heats for the Genco Puppy Invitation and the Bombay Bitches Trophy. With the first two from each of three heats qualifying through to Derby Final night competition finals the competition was fierce.
