Dropzone (Sh Avatar-Bonus, Jul 15) extended his winning sequence to six with an impressive victory in the £500 Standard Final at NOTTINGHAM on Monday.
The Elaine Parker trained 4-5f went from trap five with Lowgate Sirius (T6) and Mustang Major (T1).
The winner’s time was 29.78 (+50) and the distance was a length and a half. It was easily the fastest time of the night – next quickest was Salacres Dollar’s 29.92. Dropzone’s sectional was a flying 4.99. In trials before racing, Betfred Select trialists Dorotas Wildcat clocked 29.58 – 4.98sect, Bubbly Bluebird 29.74 – 5.06 sect) and Murrays Act 29.60 – 5.11.
The £400 Maiden Final went to Shaun Moore’s Malico Champ (Godsend-Snowdon Karen, Jan 15) with an 12 plus length win over Fatboyz Nathan. The winner clocked 28.72.
Sheffield runners landed half the winners of the six opens at DONCASTER with the star of the show being Lightfoot Prince (Candlelight King-Droopys Knox, Dec 15). Sean Davy’s pup made it two open race wins from as many career starts with a 29.60 victory over 483m.
Elaine Parker, who trained Prince’s sire to break the Sheffield 480m clock, and his dam to win opens over 480m, 500m and 660m, sent out two winners of her own. Puppy Watchwhatusay (Vans Escalade-Come Home Mollie) short headed kennelmate Lightfoot Mikel in 27.64 for the 450m. Headleys Candy (Godsend-Oneco Joy, Jan 15) won a 483m open in 29.61.
Fastest of the night over the standard was locally trained Redbrick Tinca (College Causeway-Redbrick Show, Sep 14) in 29.33.
