Belle Vue A2 runner Sirius Dog Star (Tubbertelly Dubh-Drumcrow Pixie, Aug 14) landed the most lucrative race on NOTTINGHAM’s Monday night card.

The Brian Thompson trained 10-1 chance took the first prize of £400 in the 480m Maiden Trophy Final in the fastest time of the night, 28.91. He ran from trap five, with kennelmate Pennys Bubble (6-4f) in four and Laganore Dazl in trap three.

The meeting also featured a double for Kevin Hutton who did a ‘Sir Mark’ by landing a heat of a maiden competition with Drumcrow Darcy (Aero Majestic-Drumcrow Ellie, Apr 15).

Conditions for the race dictated that entries should not have won an open prior to the race closing. In a bit of nifty planning that famous race plotter Sir Mark Prescott who have envied, Darcy scraped in by a few hours prior to winning at Hove last Thursday. At Nottingham, the blue brindle returned the 5-4f when winning in 28.95. The other heat went to Gerry Ballentine’s Some Pitch (Droopys Scolari-Cracking Baby, Jul 15) in 29.25.

The Hutton second leg went the way of Ela Ela Genie (Brett Lee-Ballymac Eugenie, May 14) in a sprint heat won in 17.90. The other qualifier went to Ken Humphreys’ Slaneyside Pup (Scolari Me Daddy-Slaneyside Beryl, May 14) in 18.03 – both (+10).

Top local stayer Incredible Flyer (Makeshift-Barley Bussell, Jul 15) picked up her first staying open for Pete Harnden. Narrowly beaten by Fearsome Phantom last time out, the 4-5f came through her field to win in 42.19 (+40)

If you had bet £10 every time Beaming For You (Tullymurry Act-Beaming Olive, Nov 14) had raced, you would be more than £240 in profit. Win 11 from 24 outings came at DONCASTER on Monday night. On his first look at the circuit, the John Walton trained black clocked a ‘fastest of night’ 27.42 for the 450m.
