A ‘normal’ going allowance at NOTTINGHAM on Monday took some gloss off the night’s best performance which was credited to local stayer Nanny Cakes (Kinloch Brae-Ardera Diana, Oct 14).
Colin Wilton’s black dominated the 680m open with a front running seven length win in 42.02 some considerable way off Sandyhill Diana’s 41.46 FOY. It though, was recorded on going rated .60 fast. Unsurprisingly, it was the fastest calculated win to date for the former Hove A4/S2 runner.
Fastest over the 480m course was former Hall Green Track Championship star Let Me Tell You (Kinloch Brae-Coolavanny Cushy, Nov 14) with a 28.93 (+10) run for Angie Kibble. On his last attempt at course and distance, the brindle recorded 28.57 (+40).
There could be no doubting the performance of the night at DONCASTER where Power Local (Tullymurry Act-Jumeirah Vicky, Jun 15) was an impressive winner of the maiden 483m final.
The Debbie Calvert trained black who had clocked 29.07 (+20) in the qualifiers, pulled away from the second bend for a 29.09 (N) victory. Beaten on his debut, the black has now won his following four races.
John Walton’s ultra reliable Beaming For You (Tullymurry Act-Beaming Olive, Nov 14) clocked the fastest 450 on the night with a 27.49 run. It was his fourth victory in his last five races.
