A track record breaking run from Mayshighlandreel produced a first Cat 1 win for Martyn Wiley in the Ladbrokes Gold Collar at Crayford on Tuesday.
Martyn Wiley’s runner went from four with joint favourite Oakfield Caesar the only other runner seen with a chance.
The winner’s time was 33.09 (+50), half a length inside the 13 year old track record held by Sunshine Sophie.
Trainer Martn Wiley said: “We knew she was a good bitch and she has taken a while to come to land but the last four runs she has really come to herself. We certainly think she will get further than this. We thought this was a bit extreme on the short side. She has a little flat spot in her running but didn’t show it tonight. But this track really suits her and she has run really well.”
