Ridgedale Max was seven spots inside the Yarmouth 659 metre track record in his trial on Saturday night.
Phil Simmonds’ talented six bender clocked 40.18 (+45), with Slippy Maggie a spot inside the course best and Affleck Bolt just half a length outside it.
In trials before racing tonight (Monday), Hayley Keightley’s Roxhome Poppy and Roxholme Butt clocked 40.78 and 41.10. Tony Gifkins’ Burgess Honey did 41.18 – going allowances still to be assessed.
The Cat 1 George Ing St.Leger closes for entries at 2pm tomorrow, with the first round set for next Monday.
