Paradise Maverick completed an unbeaten run through the Gain Dog Food Irish Cesarewitch when landing the final over 600 yards at Mullingar on Sunday.
Pat Buckley’s runner was led to the turn by Springwell Watsy but after riding a bump he went clear off the second turn and beat the running-on Droopys Bomber by two and a half lengths in 33.51sec.
It marked the first major win for the dog that managed to beat eventual Irish Derby winner Laughhil Blake during the competition and also broke the 525 yard record at Waterford.
The victory finished off a great weekend for Pat Buckley, who managed to qualify two runners Coolavanny Jap and Lenson Sanchez for the Scottish Derby Final at Shawfield.
