CASHEN MAUREEN’S short but highly successful stay at Mark Wallis’s Imperial Kennels was rewarded with a bonus today when she was revealed as the winner of the GBGB-sponsored Greyhound of the Month award for December.
The bitch topped the Greyhound Writers’ Association’s poll following her efforts last month that saw her produce a trio of victories as she picked up The ECC Timber Oaks at Belle Vue.
Subsequently sold by owner Paul Clark, as reported yesterday, she has been switched to join June McCombe in Lancashire, but Wallis was very happy with the recognition she received for her Classic victory, commenting: “That is extremely good news. She was a very good bitch for us while she was here and I believe that she deserved to win the award for what she did in Manchester.”
