Trainer Matt Dartnall is to join Hove with immediate effect.
In in his most successful year since taking over from father Terry, with two Category One winners to date, the Staines based handler will start trialling runners this week. He had is last runners at Towcester on Saturday but is currently Hove’s leading open race trainer.
LadbrokeCoral Head of Stadia Ian Smyth said: “We are delighted to welcome a young trainer Matt’s to Hove. Our kennel strength has been below what I would like to see, and we have had a shortage of wide runners. This should help to address that.
“We are still roughly 20 runners below what I would like though we are not at the stage of announcing any further appointments at this stage.”
Matt said: “It is a great move for us, it is closer and financially more lucrative.”
The kennel’s recent Crayford track record breaker Brinkleys Poet is due to trial at Nottingham on Monday with a view to seeing if he merits an attempt at the RPGTV Select Stakes.
