Owner Keith Warner has not ruled out a return to racing for Express Master even though the former Monmore star has been retired to stud.
He said: “I would have to discuss it with the trainer, but although he had the odd niggle during his career, he was retired sound. In fact, he was a very robust dog and I hoping that transmits through to his pups.
“We only retired him because he was obviously slowing down a little with age and we didn’t want him to be beaten by lesser dogs. I would love to see a few open races staged for veterans. It would certainly be tempting.”
Master’s first litter out of open racer Chauffeur Driven are now eight months old and one of the pups was part of the prize for a sponsored race at Monmore recently.
