Mark Wallis duly landed a record eighth trainers title, two more than training legend Linda Mullins, writes Floyd Amphlett

The Towcester handler had 495 points to spare over Paul Young and achieved a magnificent 27% of winners. It is a remarkable achievement for a kennel which even between its Walthamstow and Towcester appointments, has managed to maintain an amazing standard for more than a decade.

From a little corner of Suffolk, the modest former permit trainer deserves full recognition as one of the greatest handlers in the history of greyhound racing in Britain.
