Liz and Rab McNair send seven of their homebreds to Swindon on Wednesday lunchtime for the second round of the 73rd Two Year Old Produce Stakes.
Rab said: “I have been a bit disappointed in the publicity for this competition so far. I don’t think the replays of the heats have been shown on RPGTV which is a bit disappointing if we are trying to promote British breeding.”
Here is Rab’s view on the chances of the kennel’s runners:
“I thought King Idol ran an absolute blinder to qualify after finding himself in such a poor position early on. The clock may favour King Cash but I don’t think there is anything between them.”
“There might only be four spots between Dylan and Diamond on heat form but I think Dylan is probably the faster dog by around six lengths. But John’s dog Romeo Rumble showed a lot of gears behind Queen Cher and would have beaten her with a bit more track craft. But I think Dylan will be good enough.”
“Queen Cher is a little bit behind the others in her preparation but did nothing wrong to win her heat. I would expect her to come on a little bit from that first round run.”
“King Sheeran might be an English Derby semi finalist but I think Lennon can beat him, even after giving him a start. That is how much I think of Lennon. If Lennon can get five or six more decent races under his belt, I would expect him to find time in every one of them.”
