Roxholme Magic completed an amazing treble for Hayley and Mark Keightley when landing the €9,000 Harolds Cross Bookmakers Marathon on Friday night.
In a week where the kennel of five runners had sent out the winners of the Oaks and Laurels, the 5-4 second favourite Magic was in last place after a circuit as Jaytee Patriot took the lead. The Hennessy runner was still eight clear of the Keightley runner at the penultimate bend but his stride was shortening and Magic flew past on the run-in to win by an extending three lengths in 57.55 for the 1010 yard course.
