Monmore’s Lawrence Jones Memorial card
on Thursday has lived up to all expectations. Several of the £1,000 one-offs have a ‘Cat One Final’ look about them. Punters would go a long way to find a better sprint (4th race) this year, a feat matched by the 684m seventh race, bristling with Cat One winners. Look out too for the bitch’s race (9) which features new puppy find Droopys Live taking on some of the fastest females in training.
There is quality throughout the 14 race meeting but there won’t be too many odds-shots. The meeting was well over-subscribed and racing manager Tony Williamson has asked for understanding from connections of all those runners who he was unable to fit it.
A later kennel time of 7.45pm sharp for all runners racing in the 20.57 race and onwards is available.
