Charlie Lister’s team was in fine form at Sheffield on Tuesday where the kennel lifted three of the night’s open prizes, showing signs of promise for the future.
There was a not unexpected debut victory for West Of Kinkade in the Puppy 480. Lister just managed to squeeze this opportunity in as the son of Tyrur Sugar Ray and Tyrur Mozzletoff loses his juvenile status on Sunday and the dog was 7-4 on , a price he justified by making all and running away from the opposition to win by five and a quarter lengths in 28.09. Clearly more to come there.
Ballymac Budget was having just his second race since October in the first of the standard opens, but he was really back to form showing good early and capitalising on it to set up a two-length success in 29.00 for the 500 metres, while Southern Henri followed up success at last week’s win with another in 28.90 in the other standard to complete a treble for the raiding party.
