Irish Derby form can come to the fore in the second round of the Dublin Coach Irish Juvenile Derby over 525 yards at Shelbourne Park tonight.
Ballymac Cooper who got to the quarter finals of the Derby justified odds of 1-7 in last week’s heats when scoring in 28.31sec and another clear cut win is expected in the last qualifier.
Droopys Hunch, who impressively won in the first two rounds of the Derby can take heat four. John Linehan’s bitch missed her break last week but can make amends to see off strong runner Ballymac Wisdom.
Fast heat winner Ballydoyle Flush is fancied to beat two other heat winners in the second eliminator.
Martin Lanney’s bitch who scored in 28.24sec, can get first run on Brinkleys Kid, who won in 28.51sec and Deanridge Sirius, who scored in 28.35sec.
Patterdale Greg, who won an open puppy final the week before the Juvenile Derby in 28.27sec, can bounce back from last week’s defeat to take the opening qualifier.
Graham Holland’s Newinn Hero, who won the €6,000 Unraced Stake at Cork in August, is the tip for heat six.
Razldazl Annie is an interesting runner in heat five. The daughter of Razldazl Billy, has qualified in 28.44sec at Limerick and 28.56sec at Shelbourne and can prove too strong for her rivals.
Her trainer Neilus O’Connell can also get on the scoresheet with Razldazl Monarch in heat three. She won in 28.26sec the week before the heats which saw her get a bumpy ride.
Skywalker Canny, who made everyone sit up and take notice when winning on his debut at Cork in 28.03sec, can bounce back from last week’s defeat to take heat seven.
