The GBGB will be honouring one exceptional kennelhand at the Greyhound of the Year Awards 2018, which will take place at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge on Sunday 27th January 2019.
Anybody involved in the industry can nominate the person who has shown incredible dedication, puts in the extra hours and will always go that extra mile. The winner will receive a trophy, two tickets to the event, £500 and accommodation at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge.
Mark Bird, Managing Director said:
‘’The Kennelhand award is one of the few formal recognitions by the industry to highlight the tireless work that kennel staff carry out to help ensure that greyhounds are fit, healthy and looking their very best for racing. There is a mountain of work that goes on at the kennels in order to achieve this, together with working unsociable hours and transporting greyhounds to and from the tracks. For most kennelhands it is because of the love that kennelhands have for their hounds and this is our chance to applaud the work of kennelhands.’’
Nominations should include a brief description of why you think the individual should be awarded this, their name, along with your own contact details.
Nominations must be received by Wednesday 2nd January 2019.
Email [email protected] with the subject line ‘Kennelhand of the Year 2018’. A panel comprising a number of industry experts will meet to discuss each nomination.
Tickets to the event are priced at £95 per person and includes a drinks reception, three course meal, wine and entertainment until late. To book your ticket contact the GBGB on 020 7822 0902.
