The GBGB has given Towcester special dispensation to hold over the 2nd Round heats of the Stadium Bookmakers Juvenile Classic until Sunday 24th July.
“This is great news and our thanks go to both Paul Illingworth and Scott Harvey at the GBGB for the sensible approach to the freak weather we will soon be encountering. We were faced with asking pups to run 3 times in 11 days if we were to keep the scheduled dates and obviously nobody wanted that. We have already cancelled our meetings next week at Towcester on Monday and Tuesday and continue to monitor Sunday evening. We have deliberately used local trainers as the meeting is at risk of late cancellation due to the rising temperature” says Director Of Racing James Chalkley.
The competition was originally due to finish on Sunday 31st July, however that date will now be the semi-finals with the Final now scheduled for Sunday 7th August (7 days later than originally scheduled).
