Greyhound Trader oversaw their most successful Online Auction’s to date yesterday with the previous of £14,025 for a single greyhound smashed!
With a 28.21 win for 525 yards at Shelrbourne Park, backed up by a 29.85 (550), Gaytime Jordi (Droopys Sydney x Gaytime Derval) was in phenomenal demand during this weekend’s recent Greyhound Trader Online Auction. Whilst the bidding went to an amazing £15,025, a deal was done afterwards via Greyhound Trader at £16,000 for the Aug’20 black dog. A half-brother to English Greyhound Derby Semi-Finalist Gaytime Milo, Jordi will soon be making his way over to the UK and look to be a leading player in all of the upcoming major competitions.
Glengar Jenny (Droopys Sydney x Sparta Emmy) was another high profile sale whose reserve of £6,000 was outdone to £6,750 and now heads to John Mullins. The Feb’20 bitch was a runner-up in the SPK Puppy Oaks back in November and counts both a 28.39 SPK 525y run and a 29.49 Towcester run to her name. Eyes will be on the big money available in the upcoming Empress Stakes and English Oaks each holding £10,000 and £20,000 winners prize money respectively.
One of the most interesting lots in the auction, Ballymac Inspeed and his comrade Ballymac Fearnot, sold at £5075 and the pair will both be heading back across the sea to Ireland to stand at stud in Co. Meath. A winner of the Michael Fortune Future Champion Stake and a finalist in both the Easter Cup and Gold Cup, Inspeed will be looking to emulate the starts at stud his brothers Ballymac Bolger and Malachi have both achieved.
Isthatok is a strapping 84lbs Dec’20 greyhound who’s only 525 run around Waterford saw him stop the clock in 29.64. Bought for £1400, he looks a good buy and will start to ply his trade at Hove under the hands of Tony Taylor.
Finally, at the end of the auction Greyhound Trader were inundated with enquires surrounding the two well-bred Ballymac bitches available, Ballymac Starry (Burgess Bucks x Starry Display) and Ballymac Shula (Ballymac Anton x Art Of Illusion). The two eventually were sold to the same owner who enjoyed great success under one of Greyhound Trader’s previous private acquisitions Annual Sydney who was runner-up in the £20,000 Monmore Puppy Derby in March.
With one eye certainly on breeding the pair in time, they will each look to show what they’re capable on the track – and if breeding was a guide to go by you’d hope that they may turn out quite decent!
In all, Greyhound Trader sold 7 greyhounds for a total of £38,225 in what is their highest total amount to date (and certainly proving that their new concept they started nearly a year ago works with a bit of persistence!)
