Thursday’s Derby trial session sees the return of Rising Brandy, and includes the powerful teams from the Draper, Wallis and Peter Cronin kennels.
Perhaps the biggest surprise though is lining up alongside the Seaglass pair Phantom and Tiger for Patrick Janssens, none other than Droopys Biker.
The litter brother to Droopys Verve clocked 29.16 (-20) for Pat Buckley in last year’s competition at Towcester, but was eliminate in the third round. A 28.28 Limerick (525) and 29.55 Shelbourne (550) winner, Biker recently ran fourth in the Gain Nutrition 600 Final at Shelbourne.
Patrick said: “He has been with us for a couple of weeks and is starting to settle in. It is now a case of getting him qualified. It is great to have dogs of this calibre in the kennel.
“Biker is owned by Austin Whelan who also has a half share in Lenson Whelan with Len Ponder. He was formerly Tullig Footpad and has a 28.27 on his card at Shelbourne.”
Nottingham have issued the following statement:
‘Please note that this trial session is now full, however we still have plenty of space for the extra trial session on Thursday 9th May (kenneling 9.15am for 10.45am start)’
