Kevin Hutton was the man to follow in the Coral Sussex Cup Trial Stakes over 515 metres at Hove.
His Jet Stream Jack was hugely impressive in Division N when leading from start to finish to beat Blonde Nipper by just over two lengths in 29.73sec, the fastest time of the night.
Hutton’s Jet Stream Sound made it a quick double when landing Division M. The son of Premier Fantasy surprisingly picked up the favourite Calco Flyer on the third turn and went on to score by just over two lengths in 29.75sec.
Domino Storm was successful in the top division. Mark Wallis’s Derby Plate winner was soon in front and held the persistent challenge of King Dec by three quarters of a length in 29.99sec.
Dean Childs’ Southfield Blue impressed in Division Q when making every metre of the running to hold Tadys Robin by three quarters of a length in 29.91sec.
Carol Weatherall’s Holden Chico was a shock 12-1 winner of Division P when repelling the late challenge of Loughteen Pedro by a short head in 30.07sec.
Droopys Dart rode a few early bumps to land the Coral Maiden Final.
Favourite Swift Kidman was the big disappointment in Division O when getting beaten after leading until the third turn.
Mark Wallis’s Real Shirty took over and went on to hold Baran Rawhide by three quarter of a length in 29.90sec.
Paul Young’s runner tracked the early leader Lemon Diva to the third turn before going on to hold Barnish Panther by three quarters of a length in 30.20sec.
