Blakefield Jack, a winner on the two previous Saturdays at Belle Vue, was back on the Manchester track this weekend to complete a hat-trick.
The Charlie Lynch-trained dog was odds-on after his record-breaking run of the week before and he strode out well again as he pulled off a four-length success over Global Way, although his time for the 590 metres was 35.34, a little short of his 35.03 of last week.
There was also a very good run from local racer Mill Mon Amie, Paul Gregson’s versatile bitch extending her winning sequence to four in the stayers’ open with a short head victory over Lynch’s Evanta De Lyon in 40.77 for the 670 metres.
