Birmingham Cup winner Ivanexile was the quickest heat winner in the opening round of the Stadium Bookmakers Pall Mall at Oxford on Saturday.
The Matt Dartnall trained black was totally dominant in the last of the four heats, three of which went to ‘trap-to-line winners. The exception was the opening heat where Mustang Ojay led for 449 metres only to be pipped by Singalong Stacey.
The exceptionally consistent Links Maverick took his race record to 14 wins from 17 races when taking the second heat.
Hawkfield Ozark, who beat Ivanexile in the Laurels Final, ran well on a mixed might for the Janssens kennel with Coolavanny Shado’s elimination the main surprise of the meeting.
