The previous evening, Cushie Jet had clocked an excellent 28.10 in the Juvenile Derby, though the nomination goes to Ballymac Beach who was just nine spots slower but six months younger.
On a similar format, Droopys Neymar was the star in the Kilkenny Derby semi finals though the vote goes to Garryglass Rover who was just 13 spots slower on the same card while giving away six months in age.
However there are invariably ‘Droopys’ among the week’s top performances, in this case Droopys Tone, a litter brother to Droopy Trapper, with a flying run at Cork.
Elsewhere, there was a FOY run for 600yds at Dundalk by Kilemessan Royal and a joint fastest 575 at Lifford for Smurfing Season.
With nothing of particular note at Galway, the nomination goes to Willrose Bolt, by far from the quickest at the sole meeting, but a rare six year old Irish winner.
